Testicular Sperm Extraction (TESE)

TESE is a medical procedure used when other methods, such as Percutaneous Epididymal Sperm Aspiration (PESA) & Testicular Sperm Aspiration (TESA) have been unsuccessful in retrieving sperm. It involves a small incision in the scrotum and testes to obtain a tissue biopsy. This biopsy is then examined under a microscope to identify and extract viable sperm for use in an Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) cycle. TESE has been useful and effective method for retrieving sperm in cases of male infertility. This technique has been successful in helping couples struggling with male infertility, achieve pregnancy and start a family.
