Intracytoplasmic sperm injection

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is a specialized fertility treatment designed to address male infertility issues and enhance conception chances. At WishBorn Women’s Clinic and Fertility Centre, our embryology team provide advanced ICSI services to assist individuals and couples on their path to parenthood. ICSI is a technique which involves injecting a single sperm directly into an egg to facilitate fertilization. This technique is especially beneficial for couples dealing with male factor infertility.

• Preparation: Before the ICSI procedure, both partners undergo comprehensive evaluations to assess fertility potential and ensure the best possible outcome.
• Ovarian Stimulation:  The female partner undergoes ovarian stimulation to produce multiple eggs for retrieval.
• Egg Retrieval: Eggs are retrieved from the ovaries using a minimally invasive procedure performed under sedation.
• Sperm Collection: Sperm samples are collected from the male partner.
• ICSI: our embryology team use a specialized microscope and micromanipulation tools to carefully inject a single sperm into each mature egg.
• Embryo Culture: The fertilized zygotes & embryos, are cultured in incubator for few days to allow for development.
• Embryo Transfer: The healthiest embryos are selected for transfer into the uterus, aiming for a successful pregnancy & the remaining embryos are frozen to be used in future.
