Laparoscopic Ovarian Cystectomy
It is not uncommon to find a large ovarian cyst in a woman's ovary while evaluating her as part of infertility. Smaller cysts can be left to shrink by themselves or treated with medication. However, if the cyst is larger, it is advised to remove it through laparoscopic surgery as its presence may affect egg development in that ovary. Laparoscopic ovarian cyst removal is usually performed as a day procedure unless there are any co-morbidities or a history of previous pelvic surgeries.
